I am  interested in mathematical physics and nonlinear
phenomena.  In particular, I am interested in semiconductor laser
theory, nonlinear and fiber optics, surface water waves, acoustic
waves and gas lasers.  Although these topics are seemingly
disconnected and have quite different physical nature, they all can be
viewed as complex systems composed out of interacting particles or
waves. There is a general theoretical framework for their description,
called weak turbulence theory. I am trying to both
further develop weak turbulence theory and to use these developments
to study such complex systems.
