  Physical Meaning: Measures the ratio of inertial forces ( $\rho_0 U^2/L$) to Coriolis forces ( $\rho_0 f U$).

• Froude number ( $\mathrm{Fr}$):
  $$\mathrm{Fr} = \frac{U}{N H}$$
  Physical Meaning: Measures the ratio of inertial forces to buoyancy (stratification) restoring forces.

• Aspect ratio ($\delta$):
  $$\delta = \frac{H}{L}$$
  Physical Meaning: Measures the thinness of the flow domain (vertical scale $H$ over horizontal scale $L$).
